Will my battery charge during a blackout?

Yes your battery will still charge during a blackout, however, if you've got an AC coupled battery, it won't recharge after depleting storage.

Does a battery provide whole home backup during a blackout?

It depends on which battery we install. You can have whole home backup with some batteries while others only provide backup to a couple of designated circuits.

What is the difference between an AC-coupled and a DC-coupled battery?

A DC Coupled battery is more efficient and is the best solution for a new installation, while an AC coupled battery is often a better solution for retrofitting to an existing solar system.

What battery brands do you use?

We stick with the heavy hitters in the Australian Market like Sigenergy, Goodwe, Sungrow & Solaredge

Who actually performs the installation, subcontractors or in-house teams?

We don't subcontract any of our work. Everything is all in-house, from inspection, design and installation

Is the system VPP (Virtual Power Plant) ready?

Yes, all of our systems are VPP ready

Can I add more battery storage or panels later?

Yes you can add more panels and battery storage later, however it is a very expensive exercise to do it this way. The best solution is to oversize your system up front if you anticipate needing more in the future.

Do I need to do any maintenance on the system?

While solar and batteries are very low maintenance, it is advised to have an annual health check and solar panel clean to maximise power production and ROI.

Who do I call if there's a warranty issue?

You call us and we'll deal with the warranty. We select brands that have a 'boots on the ground' presence in Australia. All of the brand we use maintain large offices and technical support teams in Sydney and Melbourne. This means if you ever have an issue, we aren't calling an overseas call center. We’re talking to local technicians who can authorize warranty claims and parts fast. They offer Tier-1 technology designed specifically for the harsh Australian climate.

Can I install my battery outside or does it have to be inside?

Most batteries can be installed both inside or outside, however, there are very strict regulations around where we can and can't install them. That's one of the reasons a site inspection is mandatory.

Is the ROI on a battery worthwhile

In most cases the answer is yes, especially with the federal rebates, but it also depends on your energy usage. This is why an in person site visit is essential. We can go through your current energy usage, but also discuss if your usage could change in the future. eg, an electric vehicle, air conditioning etc

If I get solar and a battery will my bills be $0

I never like to advise that your bills will be $0, but we have achieved this for many clients. This depends on many different factors like, roof area, energy usage, budget etc.

Can I use the battery in my EV to power my home?

In short, yes, but only certain EV Chargers, like the Sigenergy DC EV Charger are capable of V2G/V2H, however most car manufacturers don't allow this in their warranty, bar a couple of manufacturers like the Nissan LEAF and Mitsubishi Outlander and Eclipse Cross

By joining, you allow your battery to provide tiny bursts of energy to the grid during peak demand or emergencies.
